Planning and Zoning Department

The City of Dover of Planning and Zoning department is responsible for planning the physical growth and development of the City. In order to fulfill that responsibility, the P&Z department prepares and revises a general plan periodically, recommends updates to the rules governing subdivision of property and revisions to the zoning laws that regulate the use of property and administers both the subdivision code and the zoning ordinance. The P&Z department is dedicated to managing the City’s development in an efficient and equitable manner by balancing the interests of diverse parties. The P&Z department seeks to provide clear, timely information to the public concerning the planning and development activities within the City.
