Text-to-Speech: The City of Dover website includes text-to-speech capabilities. By clicking on the play button in the upper right hand corner and the Screen Reader text-to-speech program will automatically read all the text in the main body of the page. To stop or pause the reading, press the Screen Reader pause and/or stop buttons. If for any reason the text-to-speech program shows that it is reading the text, but no sound comes out, check to make sure that the volume of your computer speakers is not tutned off. Also, the Screen Reader text-to-speech program cannot read pdf files (unfortunately, most of the documents stored in the "Public documents" archive are in pdf format).

If you want the text-to-speech program to to read a specific range of text, simply highlight the text using the left button of your mouse, then hit the Screen Reader play button.

Text size: The text size can be increased by pressing the CTRL and + keys simultaneously. The text size can be descreased by pressing the CTRL and - keys simultaneously.
